Veteran Pacific
cruisers (we sailed out San Francisco’s Golden Gate
on our first cruise in 1981,)
and well-known sailing photographers and authors, we are also avid
fishers and raced regularly in local fleets. We have thousands of
blue water miles under our keels (didn't tie to a dock for 4 years)
and are Commodores in the Seven Seas Cruising
Association. For years, boating has been our life aboard
our teak 1961 Hugh Angelman Sea Witch, (see Sea
Witch link to left) Southern Cross.
As
Realtors for many years, we acted as fiduciaries for countless home
sellers and to the best of our knowledge, we are the only yacht/boat
brokers in Hawaii who passed all licensing requirements to act as
fiduciaries for yacht sellers in California as well. By keeping
Aloha Yachts small, local and detail
oriented, we provided unequaled personal professional service. As
part of that service, we also “watched” boats for owners on the
mainland and arranged cleaning, repairs, maintenance, etc
.We
left Hawaii in June, 2007 to
cruise again and spent 13 months at Fanning Island (click link to
left) and then sailed through the Northern Cooks, Samoa, Northern
Tonga and finally arrived in New Zealand December 1, 2008. Our Sea
Witch served us extraordinarily well
throughout the journey and we remained in New Zealand for the Southern
ocean cyclone season.
We also, not without some regrets, are put our venerable classic
yacht, Southern Cross, up for sale and flew to California May 2009
to renovate our 105-year-old historical site in San Diego.
On
August 31st, Angelman aficionados, Ed and Stacy McDonald, bought
our wonderful old Sea Witch so we are officially "between boats."
On September 3rd, we drove to northern California, found a wonderful
Board and Care Home and moved our 87-year-old mother. Whew! Then
rushed back to San Diego to pack and hop on a plane to NZ on Sept.
19th to offload all our stuff from Southern Cross. After 20 years
living aboard, we have no idea where we will put the stuff or where
we will live.
